Henry, I opened up your profile.

Mind if I ask in public where you prof and what?

I just about became one myself. Sometimes kind of wished I would have, but have had and still have an interesting career all the same. Part of my career these days involves driving the Richardson and Dalton Highway in AK, and enjoying the solitude, wildlife and scenery, plus I get paid. Saw four moose today, nothing else. They were grazing.

One thing that never ceases to amaze me, and that is how much time my one time mechanic fingers spend at the keyboard. Never would have dreamed. Probably if I were to think back and predict the least likely thing I would use the mostest, later in life, is typing. I took it for whatever reasons in HS and actually am pretty good at it.

I had a prof in college, and when asked "Why do we have to learn that?", he would always reply "I don't know what you are going to do later in life, but you might need this!" I think that question came up most often when we learning about Bessel functions, can't recall that I ever used those much. Maybe I better go back and review, and see if they have any charting applications.
