mph, I sit back and ponder that all the opponents of Clinton could come up with was that he had sex with Monica and had lied about it. They could not beat him up on his foreign policy, his economic policy etc. Just one item, he lied under oath and hence committed a felony. The American people did not buy that. And during impeachment, the Senate blinked. Why? They were pressured by their constitutents to keep Clinton in office.
The Bushies came into the White House riding on social issues. The American people, who were benefitting from a good economy indeed came out and voted in large numbers to keep the economy going by voting for Gore. But the Republican rogues were at work, trying to manipulate the antiquated system of EC to their advantage.
So noe they are crying foul, trying to latch on to something that will keep Bush afloat. Maybe the "Gay Marriage" issue. Maybe not. Maybe provide statistics on who is more liberal, Kennedy or Kerry.
But this time the American people will take no BS from those scoundrels. They may spend 140 millions to attacks Kerry. But if they do not talk about the issues the American people want to hear about, jobs, economy, healthcare, outsourcing etc. they are toast. YOu know when the CNN anchor points out the negative campaigning tactics of an incumbent they imply that it would be a stupid tactic for an incumbent to do so.
An incumbent runs on his record not on his opponent's record. In this case Bush's record is that of a Chief Executive. Kerry's is not. You don't compare apples to oranges, get that my friend.

Most Think Truth Was Stretched to Justify Iraq War
By Richard Morin and Dana Milbank Washington Post Staff Writers Friday, February 13, 2004; Page A01
A majority of Americans believe President Bush either lied or deliberately exaggerated evidence that Iraq possessed weapons of mass destruction in order to justify war, according to a new Washington Post-ABC News poll. The survey results, which also show declining support for the war in Iraq and for Bush's leadership in general, indicate the public is increasingly questioning the president's truthfulness -- a concern for Bush's political advisers as his reelection bid gets underway.
