I purchased some sugar 'on sale' today for 36 cents a pound. 6 times the world wholesale price.

I understand the distribution chain requires a profit margin (I'm led to believe it amounts to appx 1% for retailers) but big picture I cannot ignore that I'm subsidizing Corn Products International and the High Fructose Corn Syrup interests, along with Sugar farms in Florida (and the midwest), at the expense of South American and Australian lower cost producers.

So I quietly ask myself: if waking reality leads one to believe 'ignorance is bliss', then does it not behoove one to allow others to find their moments of pleasure in illusion?

And then I find myself 'in this world, but not of this world'. Aware, but less evangelistic.
