Realityman Revisited

Who is Realityman3 was one of the original pages of Asensio Exposed. It presented evidence that prolific message board poster Realityman3 was likely Manuel Asensio or someone associated with him. We're now convinced that Realityman is unlikely to be Asensio himself. As a result, we've removed the Realityman page from the site.

What went wrong? It's simple. We were struck by how similar Realityman's postings were to Asensio & Company's reports on Polymedica. That (as well as other factors) made us think that Realityman was most likely Asensio. After all, Asensio testified under oath that he writes his reports himself.

But as we read more and more of Asensio's reports, we found ourselves doubting his claim of authorship. We see no way to reconcile it with the expertise needed to be the author of some of these reports. Too many of them require advanced knowledge of biology, medicine, engineering, or computer science--all topics far from Asensio's training in economics and business. [ asensioexposed.com ]There is also a noticeable variation in style among the reports. Some are sober and scholarly; others hostile and inflammatory. Some are very well written; others precisely the opposite. It's simply inconceivable that Asensio wrote this varied collection himself--or that one unsung ghostwriter is responsible for what he claims to have written single-handedly during the past eight years.

Where does this leave us in regard to Realityman? Obviously, in no position to argue that the similarity between his writings and the Polymedica reports implicates Asensio himself as the owner of the Realityman alias.

Realityman may well be the person who drafted the reports for Asensio & Company. He could be a client or someone who shares information with Asensio and/or his client hedge funds. But Asensio himself? We once thought it very likely. We no longer do.
