The minimalist answer is that god doesn't have to be very big or knowledgeable to be a significant being in comparison to me. Hell, my wife gets there and requires quite a bit of me with much less capacity than a god or goddess.
We all have that problem. Some more than others. You should see what sandintoes and mph do to me. :-)

But talk about avoiding questions....are you responsible for your children's behavior or pain? You knew what was in store for them when you conceived bringing them into the world. I think that is a better comparison than children playing with matches or guns.
Evasion. If God does not know and cannot determine the future, he is not omniscient and omnipotent AND prophecy, the basis of much of modern religion, HAS to be wrong.

And if he has those powers, you do not have free will.
