Glenn,

Thanks for the book reviews. I'll put McLean's book on my 'to do' list. Unfortunately, that list is a mile long and I think I'll probably settle into Kevin Phillips "American Dy-nasty" exposé of the Bush Cabal before looking into the SPEs, Raptors and the Rapture of Tax Haven Heaven.

Sounds like your "luck" in court runs about as good as mine. As foreman of a civil trial, I advised my fellow jurors that the serial suer who had us tied up for a week on a stale sixth extension of a 30 year old case stemming from her stupidity in trusting her lawyer with investment money ought to be dismissed because the plaintiff was clearly abusing the legal system and us. But the bleeding hearts on the jury wouldn't listen to my hard-headed good sense and the majority voted to reward bad behavior and financial irresponsibility. The whole episode left a very bad taste in my mouth about the nature of the court system. I refuse to call it the "justice" system any longer.

Re: We will have to agree to disagree on the issue of Ashcroft and Enron.

What is there to disagree about? The fact of the matter is that there were several days after the story broke on the bankruptcy and when it was common knowledge that Enron was shredding documents 24/7 before the Department of in-Justice requested a restraining order to halt the document destruction. There is nothing to disagree about, unless you want your own facts. <wink>
