Kerry predicted that as a result of their experiences during the war, veterans like himself "will not readily join the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars..."

As a life member of the VFW, I can tell you with certainty Kerry got that wrong. Every VFW I have ever been in has numerous members from the Nam era. Every issue of VFW Magazine has informative articles for Vietnam Vets.

The VFW President played personal politics when he recently endorsed Kerry. I have yet to hear about a single VFW Post going along with him. The discussion at mine is all about Kerry's jumping ship and abandoning his men on the battlefield 8 months early because he suffered a few minor scratches and his refusal to financially support the troops currently engaged.

Kerry's actions speak much louder than his words to veterans. Kerry has never demonstrated the attributes needed to command the Armed Forces of The United States.

Integrity, loyalty and courage are the keys to successful command. Kerry blew integrity when he lied about Vietnam Vets. Loyalty went the same day and stays gone with his senate votes. Courage went when he walked away from his battlefield command.

I think the reason Kerry tells us so often that he is a hero is because deep down, where it really counts, he knows he is spineless.
