Thanks Dolinar,I will bring up some points that reflect my approach and please let me know if you think I am wrong.

.... my take is that if I can invest in a place that it's administration is "light years" away in economic development from the rest of Europe, but only 4 to 5 miles from a international airport 5 to 10 years away from the rest of Europe I may have a benefit after all.

Think about let say receiving an income tax holiday of 5 to 10 years because you generate jobs in a jobless region but being 10 minutes away from an international airport frequented by Western Europeans and 3 to 5 star hotels .. think of available competition for example due to income tax advantages.

Other prospects is substantial funding and grants from EBRD US Aid, GTZ etc. to generate work places in a "left behind" and potentialy social explosive region. Think of the possible leverage of owning an asset with very little down payment.

The place I am talking about is village of Linn near the Macedonian border with Albania on Lake Ohrid.

Ohrid in Macedonia has around 1,800 hotel rooms (which are quite expensive IMHO for the Balkans) and over 6000 camping sites, which also charge north of EUR 10 per night per person (including services) .... so there are about 10,000 to 12,000 tourists to feed and entertain from May to October I assume, in a region with only 50,000 inhabitants .... how about winter ? I do not know possible the place is dead.

Something must be going on there as people are not insane to pay up to EUR 300 per night for a suite and EUR 150 per night for a double occupancy room.

Further I would like to ask you an additional question - "Natural Grown Food" is it trendy in Europe like in the US were prices are almost double for such items?

on emore little tid bit which must be commercially proven - under ground further few miles inland there are suposedly rich nickel and chromite deposits
