I just wanted to point out that there are differences among Catholics who choose to attend the Latin Mass. Every article I've seen from the mainstream press paints every Latin Mass devotee as a CMRI nut.

I've been around people who attend Mass said by priests of the Society of St. Pius X. They aren't nutty, but there is a strain of thought there that lends itself to bitterness and resentment. You can rightly say they are "Lefebvrists" more than they are Catholic. They still rail against the Novus Ordo Mass as somehow being evil. But it's the Mass the Pope says, so they contradict themselves a little bit there.

I take in a Tridentine Rite Mass every now and then. The Fraternity of St. Peter has excellent priests who are loyal to the Pope and the parishoners I've met are very decent people.

I first started going because it seemed so countercultural, downright revolutionary even. But what brings me back now is a sense of esthetics. There is a beauty in the Mass which is hard to find anywhere else. Some symphonies come close, but it's hard to surpass the transcendental beauty of a sung High Mass.
