Note that Jan tends to read high & this year barely covered the negative numbers of the 4th Qtr 03. Said another way, with January's .5 report, we have 0% run rate for the past 4 months.

Aggressive inflation in Food & Energy offset by cheap dvd players- I think the published numbers don't do justice to what the bulk of the wage earners see, net/net. I think this will show up in a weaker 'fiscal stimulus' tax season response than many pundits are expecting.
