Ted Re...There is nothing we can build that can withstand the destructive power of the worst quakes.
Why don't you flee the whole west coast then; and not let anything be built within a 1000 miles. The point is that modern nuclear plants can be built, which won't release a lot of radiation, even with a loss of coolant. The plants can be built to withstand earthquakes, however, should the unlikely happen, they can be rebuilt. Safety is the concern.
Not likely.......our major power source is hydroelectric, not NG
AFAIK you had a drought in 2000. Secondly, probably all of your hydroelectric possibilities are built already, meaning any new capacity will have to come from somewhere else. Besides, dams wouldn't withstand a earthquake either.
There are more similarities than neocons care to admit
I just don't see the dems. trying to bring up the spector of Nam, being a win, win situation; especially with Kerry, and his discrediting of the services. Nobody thinks of the army that way now, and they don't want to be forced to see them that way either. So your efforts in that direction will likely face a serious backlash.
I don't need links to know when I am right.
No, that is the definition or arrogance, not defeatism. I gave you a link to my dictionary, and you come back with a definition which defines bravado, bombast, boasting. Just how is someone not knowing when to quit, a definition of defeatism? If you would have left the word not out, of your definition, you could make a case. |
