John, something I heard today which I hadn't heard anywhere else, may explain the recent selloff in the market.

It seems in the past, every time we have had a cut in the capital gains rates we have had a selloff in the markets. The last time the rate was cut was, I believe, 86. Since then many people have had a considerable increase in their stock portfolio's. They may be taking advantage of this rate cut. The good news is, it usually only lasts a couple of months.

This along with options expiring seems like a logical explanation of the last week.
