CONGRESSMAN IN JERUSALEM FOR BOMBING - "Roger Simon"

Representative Jerrold Nadler (D-NY) happened to be in Jerusalem today for the latest terrorist bus bombing and was one of the first American politicians to witness the carnage personally. “It is simply horrifying to see it up close, to see the pieces of human flesh on the ground," he told Maariv International. That newspaper continues:

Israel's restraint is remarkable to Nadler: "Any other nation on earth under attack as Israel is would have already begun bombing the Palestinian Authority. If this had happened in America, you would already see the B-52's in the air, blowing up the place where the terrorists were sent from. It is sheer hypocrisy on the part of those who say that Israel must not build the security barrier". Nadler added that the images of what he saw remind him of the period of the Holocaust.

Of course this all happens the day before the international court at the Hague begins to consider that same Israeli security fence. Will this affect their deliberations? It's hard not to be skeptical. The history of Europeans vis-a-vis the Jews has been remarkably consistent over the centuries, starting with the blood libel accusation in Norwich, England in 1144 and the trial of the Talmud in Paris in 1240 in front of the Queen of France. You could laugh these off as medieval aberrations, but of course, nearly a thousand years later their treatment of the Jews was vastly worse. The idea of Europeans putting Jews on trial today makes a mockery of the word hypocrisy.

Recently, however, even the European Union is questioning Arafat's billions (much of which he got from them in "aid" money), used by the aging gangster for his personal enrichment and for terrorisim. (Today's murders were claimed by Arafat's Al Aksa Martyr's Brigade.) But will they put him on trial at the Hague? Certainly not before the Hotel Bristol gets its money for his wife's suite.
