No one has "proven" that Nader caused Gore to lose. No real analysis of the exit data exists.


Considering that the Florida 2000 Nader vote was hundreds of times larger than Bush's margin of victory, you have to assume either a) none of Nader's voters would not have voted for anyone else if Nader hadn't run, or b) those who did vote would have voted for Bush more than Gore.

Both assumptions seem pretty unlikely on the face of things.
