This is fundamentally where we disagree. Marriage is not simply about biology. It is about commitment and a spiritual bond that includes but transcends physical relationships. The step towards marriage is an important one, in that the partners are commiting to each other not only an ongoing physical or procreation relationship, but an emotional and spiritual one. If marriage were simply reduced to biology, as you claim it should be, then the ideal of marriage would indeed be destroyed.
