You've reduced yourself to a game of semantics.

Marriage does not produce offspring, sex does. There are plenty of human societies not to mention animals where the father plays no role after the sex act. Often the father never knows or sees its offspring. In non-mammals sometimes neither parent knows the child.

Humans produce more children than they do families willing to nurture and raise them. Having non-procreational families willing to raise these unwanted progeny of the sex act can easily be seen as a good strategy for the survival of our species.

So your appeal to biology fails.
