***Sector & Index Alerts Results Log
I'm not exactly sure what will be the best way to do this.

For now...and this may change,I would like to track the results of the maximum swings in price,up and down by percentage,in a time period of 3 days after the alerts are issued.

What I am attempting to show is if there was an opportunity to make a gain, and if the ETF stayed within a range where it wouldn't be stopped out.Maybe someone has a better idea but thats how we'll start. It can always be changed.

*** Please note. Actual gains or losses will differ in real life trading. This is for informational and illustrative purposes only. Do your own DD.

1.Pharmaceutical HOLDRs Trust (PPH) SHORT alert called on 2/13/04. In a window of 3 trading days after the alert, Max. price was $83.65 (+.76%) well within a 1.5% stop.
Day 1

Min. price was $82.00 for an opportunity of a 1.23% gain by covering the short.Day 2.

In this model it is assumed the ETF is bought or sold short EOD the day the alert is given. A window of three trading days will then follow, with results we will track for minimum and maximum price swings, noting the day they occurred within the 3 day trading window.

This seems to me to be a good start for collecting data that will be useful for possibly constructing a mechanical trading model with stops and buy / sell orders based on a history of past performance.
