Ted, And yet you find nothing wrong with Robertson reporting that God told him that Bush would win by a landslide.

I wasn't referring to that. Besides, it's almost too easy to pick on Pat Robertson, and Rooney isn't really going out on a limb by doing so.

Go out on a limb? Who said that's what Rooney was doing? What I saw him doing was pointing out the absurdity of Robertson's claim.......which you seem to want to ignore. This man is claiming that God speaks to him directly, and that God is so focused on the doings of America, that he's decided to call the election. I would laugh if I didn't think Robertson and his followers believed his BS.

I keep thinking you are one of the sane ones from the right. If you don't see why that behavior has to be called out and squelched, then I think we're in big trouble.

he doubts that God talked to either Robertson or Gibson.

He's got some nerve comparing Gibson's making of "Passion" to Robertson's prediction of the 2004 election.

I think where there's an analogy is in the fanaticism of the two men. I think if Jesus were here he'd tell Gibson to lighten up and Robertson to stop taking God's name and using it to promote his own vanity and political party.

Of course, I don't know that for sure since neither God nor Jesus talk to me. However, their angels do.......but then they tend to be a little cryptic and not very verbose.......and certainly, never try to call an election nor my chances at blackjack. Then again, they are not God.
