It's always dangerous to bet against the US economy, cause, bubble aside, it IS the strongest economy in the world, and US IS the country which is most favorable for businesses. I still think we have to go through some s... hitting the fan, before things can, and will(!) become better. It could happen quickly (my wish), or it could be going on for decades, like in Japan or US in the 70-s.
China has per capita GDP of about 1/10 of that in the US, so there is absolutely no way China will become a country with high living standard any time soon. Even if growth is maintained at 7-10% per year in China, it will take 100 years or more for them to catch up with the US. India as well. Things to keep in mind, regardless of how bearish our views can get. Yes, US is in a bubble, which is unsustainable - the credit bubble, and we have some tough years ahead. No, 2000 was not a start of just a cyclical bear market. |
