As former French Interior Minister Charles Pasqua put it --on September 12, 2001, that is, in tempore non suspecto-- the USAF was put on alert and USAF fighters did scramble and successfully shoot down two out of the four hijacked airliners. For obvious reasons, the order for US fighters to "intercept" civilian airliners has been classified. Besides, it's quite consistent with the official 911 timeline: both the Pennsylvania "crash" and the Pentagon "crash" allegedly occurred AFTER the WTC towers were hit by the other two hijacked airliners... That is, the orders to shoot down flight 77 and flight 93 were issued after no doubt was left as to the hijackers' real, mass-murderous aims.
