Kerry has a fine voting record in the Senate. The rightwing is attacking him for voting with Bush on some bills, and against Bush on others. Acording to the right wing, no Kerry vote has ever been a good one, even if they agree with it. It's just silly. Would any senator like to take back a few votes he/she made in the past, sure. And Bush would like to take back many of his stupid ideas and speeches too, like "Bring em on!" and "Mission Accomplished!" for instance, but Kerry has a sterling record and cannot be pigeon-holed. He voted for Gramm-Rudman-Hollings when no other liberals would for instance. That's the biggest issue now, Bush's bloated federal deficits and lack of jobs.
