HOW CAN PEOPLE BE SO STUPID ????
All jobs are NOT equal!
1) There are quality, skilled jobs, like engineering, and then there are "volume" jobs like retail sales clerks. This is the worst EVER job market for engineers - the jobs are simply NOT available. How would you feel if you mailed out 500 resumes and got NO reply. This is a very bad job market for "volume" jobs, simply because the pay is so poor. Try living on $8 / hour.
2) JOBS are moving overseas. All the personal training in the world will only help YOU get to the top of the pile of applicatts, it will NOT give the country as a whole a thriving economy. The JOBS are leaving - that means SOMEONE - indeed many people - will be left standing with NO work. Musical chairs - 10 people and 8 chairs. SOMEONE gets the shaft. With all these jobs LEAVING, MILLIONS of people are left standing around witn NO work.
3) The economies of scale are simply too drastic. People overseas work for 10 time LESS than Americans. Plus - We have a huge overhead to pay for - nationally, our military budgets, social security, etc. PLUS - health costs, lawyers, environmental laws. etc. are costs added to EACH labor dollar. WE CANNOT COMPETE ECONOMICALLY !!
4) American society is cracking. Politicans sweep the topic under a rug instead of solving it. We - the workers - are talking, but NO ONE is listening. We are talking to ourselves, to a wall, and to other laid off workers. Society is changing, the middle class is virtually gone -- The have vs.the have-nots. The rich vs. the poor, etc. People are getting screwed left and right - just try to figure out your schedule C capital gains tax form for example. WHAT A MESS. And - if you think it is bad now, wait for a few years when the baby boomers who are saving NO money try to retire, when health care costs have completely crippled this country, and when the budget deficit has destroyed America economically. IT IS GOING TO GET A LOT WORSE !!! |
