Not really, I posted that to show how un-businesslike Torvalds is. Why go out of his way to express his subjective views unless of course, he is either immature or has another agenda.

And as a matter of fact, the ability to stick the next bit length on the old one is 1986 technology. Conceptually, adding 32 bit extensions to 16bits was not invented by amd.

IF intel has been waiting in the wings with manufacturable technology then no biggie, IF this is a vaporware announcement then big cudos to AMD not for being first with the idea, but first with analysis of the market place, and then only IF they sell 'em.

Cheerleading for either side now is a little premature.

I don't know about you, but I have NEVER seen Microsoft badmouth Intel.

It's that old Kingston Trio refrain from the song, "Coplas"...
