I don't think that's true......I don't claim to be an authority but the last time I read something about solar energy, it's clear that it can't be a stand alone energy source in many areas of the country but it can be a very effective supplement. From what I understand, the panels have become much better at capturing the sun's energy and converting it to electricity. That means that only short periods of sun can do the trick.
