>>Ann, with opinions such as this it reinforces my belief that you are a Republican whose only interest is to weaken the Democratic nominee so as to re elect Bush. For you to say that the exploits of the US military is good for the world, for you to say that it is OK for the US to police the world, it is OK for the US to pursue a policy of economic imperialism through outsourcing etc. is nothing but Republican ideology.<<

That's not so Chinu. I'm one of those moderate Repubs who are angry at Pres Bush because his Adm has ignored average citizens & catered to multi-national corps for past 3.5yrs. A strong U.S. military is extremely important if we want to remain free. Sept 11 should have taught every American that we cannot become complacent or else there will be many 9/11-type attacks on our homeland.

Economic imperalism? We're getting our assets whooped right now in the global economy. If you were under the impression that I support outsourcing of jobs, you've not really been paying attention. That issue & the illegal 'almost' amnesty proposal are the primary reasons I decided to look at the Dem candidates this yr. John Edwards has the best policies & character to draw other moderate Repubs like me in order for Dems to achieve victory over Bush in Nov. You can't expect me to speak kindly about Kerry. When he slandered his fellow Vietnam vets, he made it impossible for me to vote for him. The fact that he characterizes himself as an "Internationalist" is the 2nd primary reason I could never vote for him. That term is a code word for someone who will ask the UN if it's alright before taking any U.S. international action.
