Maybe you should be. On drugs, that is.
Let's see, we bust so many dealers and buyers that we have to float huge new bond measures to build new prisons and it costs $30K-$60K apiece per year to hold them in already bankrupt states.
We save lives of druggies by (HAH! HAH!) keeping them from getting drugs and (HAH! HAH!) driving under the influence of those drugs. Meanwhile, the price of the drugs gets driven up to the point that the users burglarize your house and sometimes shoot you and the pups in the process to get the moolah to pay for the high priced drugs. And the trade is worth so much that the dealers regularly have drug wars that, with all the high-speed lead flying around, is indistingushable from the real thing. And innocent bystanders, who have nothing to do with all this have and no desire to, regularly get hit.
You should recognize this. It's just like Prohibition Chicago.
Will you kindly keep this *%&#ing crap in Chicago and leave the rest of us alone?
This is sane? Are you nuts?
NOTE: I use no illegal substances. Nada. In fact, because of existing medical conditions, I regularly clear anything I am going to introduce into my body with my medicos.
However, I strongly urge that anyone who considers the current situation "sane" see a head medico to get some professional help with their problem. There are drugs, I am told, that will help.
