Nope. Not eleven. NINE. Of that nine, one is adopted and two are due any day now. My good wife is doing fine, since you seem so concerned. She is a saint, as am I. She has just left to join my other children, where we will all await the big day. I will join them soon.
Surely I know it is uncommon to have so many children in these modern times. To you, children are a liability, things to be murdered if you 'can't have a good life because of them.'
To us, they are blessings. I have two more children to add to the quiver. The day will come when my dear heart and I will be surrounded by all our children AND their children, and perhaps even their children's children.
That is my prayer. But you know, Shep, were I to die right now, I can honestly say I have lived a very full and satisfying life. This world owes me nothing. I have taken everything it has had to offer, that I have wanted. I'm ready to leave it whenever the time comes.
You cannot say the same thing - and that is quite pathetic. |
