India and China will graduate 300,000 engineers this year. The US will graduate 65,000.

To this I say so what. What we should be doing with technology in the US (or anywhere really) is trying to simplify it and all of these bodies being thrown at the problem particularly in software are not improving matters, they are making it worse. The architectures for enterprise software became too complex in the 90s and should have been cleaned up, the cacophony of servers and clients should have been collapsed and probably would have been if necessity wrt expensive workers mandated it. It is just like the situation with the IVR market, automation improvements stalled due to cheap bodies.
