2/3 congress twice and 3/4 of the states-- remember the womens rights amendment that never made it. And also one that did, prohibition and then got repealed. Amendment process not for this issue imo. You are right we shouldnt be talking about it. It is a distraction for both sides and gays should themselves present a compromise that will fly. If they want to be mainstream they should make a move. I have heard that this may yet happen. mike
