Update to the thread:

I've finally spoken to everyone on my block about the upcoming election (I talked with the last 2 families today). This totals about 30 families. (I've spoken to a number of people on the nearby blocks too)

I live in one of the most Republican areas of a very Republican district (heck, I am a Republican). It is a very affluent neighborhood.

It is now official: no one on my block is planning on voting for Bush. The overwhelming view is that no one could be worse than Bush. Surprisingly, the issues that mattered were: 1) Bush's approach to problems (his arrogance was mentioned several times), 2) fiscal irresponsibility, 3) Civil liberties, and 4) the Environment.

As I stated above, this is an affluent neighborhood, so no one mentioned jobs. Iraq was only mentioned (pre-war and post-war) as a secondary subject.

Several people had questions about Kerry, and I tried to answer them as best I could. When I couldn't answer their question immediately, I sent them more information that I gathered from this thread - Thank you all!

Luckily I was prepared to counter all the false information that is spread on conservative radio (thanks also to the posters that post the false information here!)

But in the final analysis, no one really cared about the smears of John Kerry. Is he George W. Bush? No. That is all they really wanted to know.

Best to all! Talk to your neighbors. We can save America.
