Tim, re: My alternative is to leave things up to the free market whenever possible. Or to put it another way my alternative is that I don't have a goal of no oil imports for the US. The scary part is that you don't have a clue about the future. Even the Bush team understands that the status quo is not sustainable. The only debate is what to do about it. John (Hint, oil consumption is going up much faster than oil production. Five, ten years at the most and we start hitting the wall, when the prices go through the roof. If you get a chance, do some research.)
