Should America stayed wayward and ignore all telltale signs of major human right abuses in Middle East. As largest economic power on earth that consumes highest per capita consumption of oil and energy resources and has total control of intellectual property rights over products that the new world is adapting to, it was very callous on part of America led by likes of Clinton to lecture and pontificate but not get involved to bring a change. Carter and Clinton jointly led decay of US influence across the board, remember the humiliation of hostages by Iranian clerics, will he call that a great day of America when American diplomats were being paraded blindfolded in contravention of all international norms of global diplomacy! Eight year of Clinton when he refused to shake hands with likes of Musharraf who could have the ability to take Omar-Osama evil axis out, business was the buzz word, global economic superiority without security for Americans became the new mantra under Clinton, the Osama fatwa to kill Americans wherever found fall on deaf ears, American blood on ‘Cole’ and open attack on ‘embassies’ became collateral damage that could be easily forgiven and overlooked, bin Ladens of the world kept meticulously planning for the nightmarish hostage takings of the civilized world as Clinton slept or worked his charms in the White House or global seminars of great leaders.
If NASDAQ 5000 and low budgetary deficits was the goal under Clinton, definitely Clinton achieved it but at the cost of overlooking ever increasing dangers for American interest across the board globally. Afghanistan had become sanctuary of global terrorists under bin Laden this sanctuary had opened links with the world through open connections from Pakistan, global maniacs would travel and get trained in methods of using stone age technology to destroy the achievements of last few centuries of open world. If that was the era of greatness that unfortunately that is exactly what I call the instant gratification lust of leftist liberal America, their lack of history and ability of appeasements sees no bounds. The dangers lurking in shadows were brought to light by cold blooded attack on human civilization, 911 was not an attack on Americans alone, it was attack on our ability to open up and to connect, it was murder of our hopes and élan vital that leave the other halve of the world alone we want to go stone. Yes post 911 it was all about going to stone age or a new age, the stone age and glass age divided was the gauntlet that was thrown by medieval thugs, a leftist liberal cannot appreciate and cannot take such a challenge, for him it was about status quo, it is never about making people learn how to fish it is about throwing entitlements, true to their form that is what happened, the gauntlet was thrown and Bush accepted it, it was the glory day for mankind that some one had the guts to accept the challenge.
May be it has resulted in some pain for some American families may be some additional taxation but if American owns the GDP of the world and uses it resources more than her due share in time of crisis it is the big brother that has to take the responsibility, American cannot and shall not become a cocoon where 250 m Americans may sleep safely as the world around them is taken over by vandals, give me your poor is what four fathers of this great democracy had envisioned, the Americans cannot abandon the greatest ideals based on which America was created.
The pain of losing dear ones is great but even Clinton belated highly prodded intervention in Serbia was based on equally great principle of saving Muslim minority of Kosovo from annihilation, the difference was that NATO had acquiesced to that since NATO could not se Europe burn in their own backyard and their European partners could not act due to share weight of history. Leftists wars are justified but rightist wars are considered as wrong! It is kind of convoluted logic.
Go little deeper in history was Normandy not about confronting evil like Hitler. Middle East was overtaken by war lords like Saddam and Ghaddafis and Assads, bringing democracy and freedom to Middle East is as important for Americana future interests as it was for brining freedom to Europe, things more than white race connected USA with Europe it was not about saving ex home from a dictator it was about implanting the core belief of emancipation and freedom from oppression enshrined in your constitution that propelled American in 1940’s to intervene after years of dilly dallying, today in Middle East the situation was no less serious, killing connectivity and closing the world is equivalent to closing or physical occupation, if world loses its connectivity today for American business it is as bad as world loses its geographical freedom. Physical occupation is no more important it is occupation of minds that is the challenge, alas the minds of liberal left is tied up to luxury of last century intellectual masturbation and politics of grand design and buying peace through temporary arrangements.
As new age had dawned so has no realities the new reality today is to confront the evil, nip it in the bud, my own country now actively pursuing evil would have been the victim of such wanton aggression where minds would be controlled by terror, talbenised state of mind is ‘terror of intellect,’ the world under Bush doctrine is confronting that mind set, yes it is very difficult for left to comprehend it, they have rather help this mind set grow by looking the other way and through eternal appeasement. |
