Dave; Lucas sold him on Pixar and dragged him kicking and screaming forwards. With good advisors(Lucas) the Disney thing was an excellent step forward. I have doubts about his strategic sense, however he has a good enough network of friends and good employees to use his cash to good advantage. I do not want to dump on him, but he has a tendency to be a publicity seeking dilletante lacking in real knowledge(what he has is dated circa 1970's when he was a true builder). All else has been dispensing of prior earned funds down rat holes like next. Note he could not get US venture $ but did get the japs with their desire to buy into the USA, the Jobs aura fooled them, and Apple was proprtionately bigger in Japan than the usa sharewise where the high cost differential was submerged in the distribution scheme and the Japanese home computers were useless dogs, just made to be scrapped, that only sold due to language barriers(which was why Apple did well, a graphic computer and a graphic language) Bill
