It is interesting to see that ChiChiX did not post the negative comments about GERN in the same Washington Post article:

"One implication of that connection, Cech and others said, is
that AZT and other drugs already developed against AIDS
may, with a little biochemical tinkering, prove to be excellent
cancer drugs."

"But telomerase has a dark side, too. In recent years scientists
have found that about 90 percent of cancer cells have one thing

allowing those cells to divide in a continuous and ultimately
deadly frenzy."
