<<<<Last century produced Hitler and Stalin. Who knows what this one will produce. In a decade or two things may look radically different than they do now. Oil is peaking, China and India are emerging, we may get an abrupt mini-ice age, nuclear weapons are proliferating, the US can no longer afford to be the world policeman (Iraq proved that conclusively) ... I don't think we have seen the end of history.>>>

History will provide us with full plate of changes and disasters-oil tanker collisions, electrical blackouts, mid-air collisions, pipeline breaks, LNG explosions, forest fires, floods on the Mississippi, California falling into the ocean.
We dont need no terrorists adding to those problems or dictators shutting down some countries oil supplies purposely. and since there are things we can do about that,
efforts are being made to prevent it from happening.
There are many devoted people working to prevent those problems, and they are not getting the credit they deserve because the Press is concentrating so heavily on the war and politics.
Police and firemen in your home town will risk their lives every day to protect citizens, in the same way our soldiers are willing to risk their own lives for a just and honorable cause.
