Of course, I don't give a damn about polls. And again, the U.S. Constitution is in place to ensure that the rights of any minority are not trod upon by the majority.

if civil unions yield basically the same rights
as marriage, what's your beef?

if segregated schools yielded the same basic education as unsegregated schools, what was the beef of the Black community?

Doing so would suggest
that homosexuality is an equally
conventional and acceptable choice..

Do you remember the day that you said to yourself "I have evaluated homosexuality and heterosexuality and I choose to be a heterosexual"?

Me, I never made a choice. I never made a decision to be gay or straight. I am a heterosexual. It is who I am. There is nothing that anyone can say or do to change that. Very similar to Blacks who didn't make a choice to be black. Because something is not the norm or mainstream does not mean that it isn't perfectly natural. Homosexuality is common throughout the animal kingdom. That is a pretty good indication that it is natural.

The real question is, do you believe in the U.S. Constitution and equal rights and protection for everyone in the country, not whether or not the country is ready for the mainstreaming of homosexuality.
