Funny you should mention that, because if that really were the case, new housing starts would match the incredibly high demand, and I wouldn't be paying an arm, a leg, and half my brain for one.

At least that's the case in the O.C., where the median price for a new home is now $450K. And that buys you not much more than a two or three bedroom "box."


The problem isn't that no one is willing to build but rather finding the vacant land, zoned residential, on which to build. Look on a map....OC is one of the smallest counties in the state and they started building there over 50 years ago. Like with cancer, the host organism has been taken over by urban development and is in a kind of stasis. Chemo might help! <g>

BTW what part of the county did you buy?
