Michael,

Just my opinion on the market correction that is taking place: A few weeks ago, everyone in the financial media was saying the economy was "perfect". The market goes up on the expectation that things will improve in the future, it goes down on the expectation that things will get worse. The implication of a "perfect" economic situation is that things can't get better, they can only stay the same or get worse.

The current equity valuations are based on strong earnings growth, and historically are very high. When companies like Gillette and Coke, that are almost proxies for the overall economy start warning about earnings growth problems, I think it is time to be concerned.

I agree that the cap gains tax cut makes a selling a little less painful, and will cause a deeper correction.

Have a nice weekend <g>,

John
