About 1938, just in time for the fall winter and snow, our
family moved back to Wyoming. Dad worked in the oil fields
and the Wyoming Salt Creek Oil Field started booming.

One evening after school, I looked up, there was a twin-pod
Lockeed P-38. (Of course, I didn't know what it was.) Those twin Allison engines were awesome. When I described it later, Dad said it must have been from the Cheyenne Air Base.

Little did I realize, this was the beginning of WWII.

Our politicians told us NOTHING. Same thing today!
