not too sure you are correct about that. since i came from lower middle class neighborhood..However, some of us had good families, most of us went to school to learn and get an education. Of course that neighborhood is now gone and the next generation of immigrants are there. I do not know about their ability to get a decent education. It seems without an education there is very little opportunity for lower middle class to improve their standard of living.

I do not know any racial line you refer to. it was majority white, catholic, protestant, some jewish, some black. now the neighborhood is all cambodian or mostly i hear.
