Got a couple things on the coffee table. I'm skimming Wesley Clark's recent book. Man, oh man am I glad his candidacy didn't go anywhere.

His book is mendacious, deliberately dumbed down, completely uncritical of the nature of Empire building and only criticizes Bush for the failures execution in Iraq. While Clark easily accepts the whole premise that, sure, we ought to maintain huge armies in the Middle East.

The more I read of his real views, the more revolted I become. The only way to call Wesley Clark "anti-war", as the media did, is for "newspeople" to be almost hysterically clueless or pathologically mendacious.
