During the Greenspan testimony, one of the democrats made the point that the tax cut given to the top 1% in the last go round, would have fully funded SS for the next 75 yrs.
Republicans would rather give breaks to the rich, and cut benefits for the people who need it.
The "republicans" on this thread who aren't independently wealthy (and I'd bet that's at least 95% of them) are acting against their self interest by backing the party that favors the wealthy. They'd rather see their children and grandchildren working into their 70's before receiving SS.
