Vinod, re:For those speculating and going long in INTC....you people just gave this company enough money over the last 30 days to buy out PEPSI. Tell me, what has changed since this stock was trading at the $70 level just prior to July 4th, 1997?

Perhaps this is a retorical question, but for Intel I think it is worth considering. Since July 4th it is a good guess that Intel has produced 9 million new processors and more than 50 million new chips over the 40 days you mention. Intel has likely earned $900 million on $3.1 billion in new sales. Each of these numbers exceed the combined yearly results of Intel's competition.

I suspect Intel's R & D teams has also been busy. Intel is 40 days closer to .25 micron volume manufacturing, 400MHz PII, and IA-64 processors.

Intel industry leadership has brought you 40 days closer to standardized digital photography, affordable 3D graphics, and much faster DRAM technology.

With this kind of performance I think I'll try to talk humble carl into giving me his new shares!

Jeff
