No, just as reminding people after a plane crash that many more die in car accidents is not the same. Viscerally. Rationally, OTOH, plane travel is demonstrably safer.

Yes, I know, you can't talk people out of feeling fear. But, dammit, we shouldn't be trying to talk them into it.

Fear is effective motivator. Name a substitute.

Fear is not a motivator. Fear moves, when it doesn't paralyze. Fear doesn't motivate. Different concepts. Fear does more harm than good except in immediate physical challenges. Lotsa studies out there on this. Fear, our immediate reaction to falling towers, has already done all the good it's going to do in this matter. Way past time to move on to the more constructive.
