I was reading about the evolution of dolphins. The link below is an example. I would like to understand what caused such an advanced creature to leave the land when they had already developed such a convoluted brain and such good lungs, and so forth. I guess that food supply is a key issue. Their diet being fish, they became increasingly adapted to meeting the demands of sneaky and evasive fish!

I find it odd that those who speculate on afterlives (and develop bizarre rituals for being "saved" and such), seem to largely ignore these intelligent mammals of ther sea. Why, for instance, did not the Heaven's Gate star travellers take dolphins with them and fish food alongside their bag of quarters? Why don't missionaries attempt to learn dolphin language and then translate the gospels into different "creaking" tongues for the purpose of teaching them "moral" behaviour? The earthly kingdom given them is so much larger than ours--yet they are largely ignored by moralists and ideologues.

One wonders if they ever developed their own religions--if they worship and pray--if they regulate sex?
