Dave, you might want to check with Bob on which direction he's headed with ASP first. For example, if using the "traditional" platform, go with a book on ASP, such as wrox.com which I heartily recommend. If "upgrading" to the .net platform, then you need to get a newer book on .net. If the latter, I doubt you'd be using C# (i.e. creating web services), so choose a version that focuses on VB. When buying a book on VB be careful to buy one oriented toward scripting on the net, not the application environment itself. While you are at it, a book on Javascript (not JAVA) would be good as well. I own this one and like it a lot: amazon.com.
