Few years ago I posted on SI about the danger of globalization as a result of technology and we start to feel the effect in earnest now.

Both the US and Europe have rising unemployment of about 10% to 11% and many jobs just evaporated never to return. Expertise and craftsmanship went down the river ... few can be proud of the work they perform in building or manufacturing a "widget" and gain satisfaction.

Remember when I visited a high precision machinery shop many years ago how proud were there the workers of their product ... now I do not see it any more all they care is the pay and achieve management goal with the bottom line,fear of competition and job security.

In a way it is sad very sad.
