Isn't anyone interested in this topic? None of the politicos wanted to hear what Greenspan had to say, although the chickens will be coming home to roost in the near future. From:

reviewjournal.com

...Mr. Greenspan suggested that policy-makers consider gradually increasing the retirement age to put it more in line with lengthening life-spans, and reducing annual cost-of-living increases so that they're consistent with actual rises in consumer prices.

Get one thing straight: Politicians cannot continue to ignore this ticking time bomb. Nor should voters let them get away with making truly irresponsible appeals. Case in point: the pathetic pandering of Democratic presidential candidates seeking to lower the retirement age. Such a change would merely hasten the fiscal meltdown.

Instead, policy-makers of all ideologies and political affiliations need to take Mr. Greenspan's ominous message seriously, and consider measures which would ease the financial burden on today's workers, while respecting the promises made to the current generation of retirees.
