The only coverage given to Bush's AWOL story was in the Globe and it was virtually ignored by the rest of the press, ergo he got a free ride.

And Dole got plenty of mileage out of his military record....But by that time Clinton's story was old hat, having been covered ad nauseum in 92..... Now since Bush didn't get covered last time and he is running against a Viet Nam hero, we can see the result...and it's easy to see why the Bushies don't like it......
