<For people like me, it was NEVER merely about WMDs. It was about using Iraq as the first stepping stone to separating the militant states in the region and creating the necessary "influence" to change the nature of the regimes and economies in that region.> That is why having the White House lie its way past Congress and attempt to strong-arm other countries to invade Iraq on false pretenses does not bother you in the least. WMDs were just an excuse. al Qaida and 9/11 were nothing but more convenient excuses. You were just itching to see us in the middle east trying to call the shots and expanding our military bases -- toppling governments and installing new ones as we please -- only in does not work. We are not calling the shots. We are not in control of Iraq. Invading Iraq on ideological grounds is a prescription for disaster. It is the triumph of ideology as the decisive factor above all else -- including national security. I will take the truth over your extremist ideology and your convenient excuses any day.
